The Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BAdW) honours EZIRE Deputy Managing Director Dr Stephanie Müssig with the 2021 Peregrinus Foundation Award "for her significant research contribution to the empirically grounded understanding of Muslim beliefs and practices in Germany."

On its homepage, the service platform for journalists “MEDIENDIENST INTEGRATION” (Migration Media Service) published an article written by Mahmoud Jaraba. The EZIRE employee provides insights into the results of his research work of several years on Arab-Turkish or Kurdish extended families and "clan criminality".

The working group led by Beate Anam and Hadil Lababidi at the Erlangen Center for Islam and Law in Europe EZIRE at the Friedrich–Alexander University Erlangen–Nürnberg (FAU) is dedicated to historical and contemporary developments, discourses, and phenomena of Islamic-influenced medical ethics.
